Overseas Research Visit│TTSTC Bridges Taiwan-Thailand Synergy in Smart Healthcare and Physical Therapy Development
To deepen substantive cooperation between Taiwan and Thailand in the fields of smart healthcare and physical therapy, the Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center (TTSTC) recently organized a strategic research mission to Thailand.
Led by Chair Professor Fong-Chin Su, the Executive Director of TTSTC, the delegation included Professor Lan-Yuen Guo, Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Kaohsiung Medical University, and Assistant Professor Chich-Haung Richard Yang from the Department of Physical Therapy at Tzu Chi University. Together, they aim to build a robust new ecosystem for smart healthcare and physical therapy between Taiwan and Thailand.

Together, they aim to build a robust new ecosystem for smart healthcare and physical therapy between Taiwan and Thailand.

The delegation visited four universities in Thailand: Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Thammasat University, and King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). Throughout these visits, discussions focused on aligning Taiwan's innovative technologies with Thailand's specific academic and industrial needs, fostering high-level talent cultivation, and initiating joint research projects.

A key highlight of the mission was the official visit to the Office of the Physical Therapy Council of Thailand, where the delegation sought to integrate clinical practice with industrial innovation. To this end, they invited representatives from two prominent Taiwanese startups, LongGood and aiFree, to share professional insights on the clinical application of assistive technologies and the transformative potential of rehabilitation data analytics.

The direct dialogue between the delegation, led by Professor Guo and Assistant Professor Yang, and Thai regulatory officials provided invaluable insights into the legal frameworks and practical requirements of the Thai healthcare system. This exchange lays a solid foundation for future technology export, product localization, and professional certification alignment.
Overall, this mission has successfully expanded TTSTC's network of academic and research partners in Thailand. Moving forward, TTSTC will continue to serve as a pivotal platform, facilitating high-impact matchmaking and driving sustained scientific research and technological collaboration between Taiwan and Thailand.
