On January 16, 2026, Professor Dar-Bin Shieh from the School of Dentistry at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) visited the Faculty of Dentistry at Mahidol University (DTMU) to deepen academic and research collaboration.

The visit was hosted by Prof. Dr. Waranun Buajeeb, Director of the NCKU Overseas Hub in Thailand and TTSTC in Thailand, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hathaitip Sritanaudomchai, along with key DTMU faculty members. The discussions focused on expanding the impact of the MU-NCKU Joint Research Center and Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center (TTSTC), a pivotal hub for innovation between Taiwan and Thailand. Professor Shieh also toured the Dental Hospital Clinics and the Department of Oral Biology Laboratories to explore future joint projects in dental science and clinical technology.

This visit underscores NCKU's commitment to fostering international excellence through shared expertise and resource exchange with its Southeast Asian partners. Both institutions aim to launch new collaborative research and faculty exchange programs in the coming year to advance global oral healthcare.

Notably, Prof. Shieh and Prof. Sritanaudomchai have a strong record of joint research, having recently co-authored the paper titled 'Synergistic enhancement of anticancer effects by periodontal ligament stem cell exosomes and oxaliplatin via apoptosis induction and protein modulation' published in Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy."
