Academic visit │ NCKU Medicine Delegation visited Mahidol University and The Chinese Association in Thailand (Chong Hua)

The National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) College of Medicine delegation, led by Professor Monica Nai-Ying Ko, Vice Dean for International Affairs, embarked on a significant visit to Thailand to foster academic collaboration and strengthen ties with the local Taiwanese community.

On February 13, 2025, Professor Dr. Waranun Buajeeb, Dean's Advisor and Director of the NCKU Overseas Hub in Thailand (MU-NCKU Joint Research Center) and Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center (TTSTC), along with Assistant Professor Dulyapong Rungraungrayabkul from the Department of Oral Medicine and Periodontology and Lecturer Binit Shrestha from the Department of Prosthodontics at Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry, warmly welcomed the NCKU delegation. The visit included six representatives from NCKU College of Medicine.

The delegation engaged in high-level discussions with leading medical institutions, including the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University, the Faculty of Medicine at Thammasat University, the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital at Mahidol University, and the Faculty of Public Health at Mahidol University. Executives and faculty members from these institutions extended a warm welcome, fostering a productive academic exchange during the visit from February 13-14, 2025.

The visit aimed to enhance academic exchange, and explore collaborative opportunities in medical education, interdisciplinary research, and student exchange programs. Additionally, the delegation visited medical laboratories to strengthen long-term partnerships that will benefit faculty members, researchers, and students from both Taiwan and Thailand.

In an effort to deepen connections with the Taiwanese community in Thailand, the NCKU delegation also visited The Chinese Association in Thailand (Chong Hua) and the Thai-Taiwanese Student Association on February 16, 2025. This visit provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with the local Taiwanese diaspora, reinforce cultural and educational ties, and promote future collaborations between NCKU and Taiwanese organizations in Thailand.
