Academic visit │ TTSTC Delegation Visits Northeastern and Southern Thailand to Discuss Future Research, Innovation, and Talent Cultivation

In May 2024, a delegation led by Professor Fong-Chin SU, Executive Director of the Taiwan-Thailand Science and Technology Center (TTSTC), conducted an official visit to Thailand. The purpose was to engage in a series of academic exchanges and visits. The delegation, which included Professor Wen-tai Chiu, Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), aimed to explore potential collaborative opportunities in joint scientific research, technological innovation, and talent development.

The visit commenced with a meeting with Professor Dr. Waranun Buajeeb, Director of the TTSTC in Thailand at Mahidol University, to discuss the center's strategies and future directions.

Subsequently, the delegation visited the Faculty of Engineering (ENKKU) at Khon Kaen University and held a collaborative meeting with the Vice Dean, Associate Dean Chiranut Sa-ngiamsak. They also visited KKUSP, the Northeastern Regional Science Park, UVOLT and observed the KKU Smart City Project.

The delegation then visited Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) and met with President Anan Tongraar and his executive team. They interacted with the Center of Excellence of Biomechanical Medicine and explored the Lower Northeastern Regional Science Park.

The visit concluded with a meeting at Prince of Songkla University (PSU) with President Niwat Keawpradub and his management team. During this visit, the delegation visited Hat Yai (the main campus) and Pattani Campus and also interacted with PSU Research and Development Office (RDO), Faculty of Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Khunying Long Athakravisunthorn Learning Resources Center, and Education and Innovative Learning Academy(EILA). The delegation also visited Southern Science Park(STSP).

Throughout the visits, the delegation engaged in roundtable discussions, emphasizing potential future collaborative projects and the possibility of collaboration with NCKU in international talent cultivation and exchange.
